The inner self -You have brought out something that lies deep in our inner minds but remains latent until one reaches out to it . It is a common trait of a human being to yearn for appreciation and recognition both in the personal and work fronts. More often than not people are frugal on appreciation and lavish on criticism. You have provided a simple solution of asking response from inner-self not only for those who look for external recognition but also others who want to know how they are faring or progressing in whatever tasks that they have taken up. Excellent writing. Well done.

An understated yet a powerful truth that all that we needed to hear/know lies within us. Yes- external validation & recognition definitely brings a lot of motivation for us to keep pushing the envelope. However, acknowledging what we are (not) doing & celebrating small wins is more than just motivation & provides us with the most authentic answers to our questions! Thank you for reading!

Thank you! I am glad that you enjoyed reading this piece! It is beautiful to note how the process of coaching becomes a powerful force to reckon with, bringing to light what one has (not) been doing and reiterating that one must find the answers within!

It is natural for us as human beings to expect recognition and appreciation - the sooner the better - for our efforts and endeavors. We constantly look to the external world to inject this fuel on a regular basis to keep the fire in our belly burning and enable us to give our best at all times. This expectation from the external world is so overwhelming that we do not take cognizance of the inner self, which is reflective in nature and provides true feedback and appreciation for our efforts. Since this force is entirely internal, its practice is not that easy, but would be greatly beneficial in self-development. I appreciate the pithy manner in which you have penned your thoughts in this article as part of your journey to self.
